STREET KNIGHTS
Harnessing the bystander effect - There have been many studies (eg The Smoky Room Experiment) that show the detrimental effects of the bystander effect and diffusion of responsibility when in groups. People are less likely to act if those around them refuse to. So, I figured, what if the majority of us did act? What happens when just one person acts? And well, as you can imagine, the situation quickly changes for the better. All it takes is one of us to take that step, for others to help too. By applying this psychology, I believe we can improve the lives and livelihoods of all life on earth.

Reward system - We use a points/karma reward system with which you can earn points and badges by engaging and acting as a Street Knight. You can use these rewards to acquire prizes (including tickets to group events, group holidays and merchandise).

Incentivising self-obsoletion
My mum once, very wisely said, "the point of any social enterprise is supposed to be to make itself obsolete". This has stuck with me and led my thought process when developing incentive for completing care. Both customers and Street Knights will receive a reward for successfully reaching our customers goal. Be that a level of education, improved health, safety, emergency aid or whatever our customer's need.

Community led - We rely on building connection within communities by bringing individuals that have been isolated by the pandemic, back together again. By educating every day people to assist every day people, we can lessen tension on emergency services, stress and guilt associated with seeing others not being helped and health and crime issues we are seeing rise across the country.

Step-by-step (what happens from the moment you contact us to the moment your problem is solved)

STEP 1: MAKE CONTACT
Once they are up and running, call our hotline in emergency situations or our support line in less urgent situations. In the meantime please email us with any queries. If you see us when you're in need, simply call us over. You can verify any knight you see in public by checking their Knight number on our website or app.

STEP 2: NECESSARY INFORMATION
We will only ever request necessary information about the situation at hand. We do not need to take your personal details in cases of emergency assistance. Our service is entirely independent and so you can feel free to speak openly with us. We are not here to judge or persecute you. We are here to help.

STEP 3: ACTION
Once we have assessed the situation and the necessary action required, we will take immediate action to help all of those in need. Whether it be medical aid, crime intervention or emotional support, we will provide whatever help is neccessary to preserve your safety and happiness. We can call emergency services for you upon your request and continue to assist you until they arrive, this is entirely discretionary.

STEP 4: FOLLOW UP
No one should be left without support after a traumatic incident. If you are happy giving us a way to contact you, we will follow up with you at a time that suits you best after the incident and see if there's any additional support you might need. Even if all you need is a friendly catch up and someone to talk to about it, we'll be here for you.
